By placing a bid or buying on an item you are entering into a legal contract. Do NOT use this site if you are not over 18 years of age and able to enter into a legal contract. If you are the winner, you have entered into a legally binding contract to purchase the item as detailed in the user agreement terms and conditions that users entered into upon registration.

To bid on an item, click the blue BID NOW button. A new screen will pop with key information. Once you review that information and want to move forward with your bid, simply enter your username and password and click BID NOW. You will then receive an order confirmation email with payment information. Payment is due within 30 minutes of purchase. If payment is not received within 30 minutes, the item will be relisted and your Snap-Bids.com account will be permanently closed. Note: Current Bid Amount is not “live.” Click Refresh to update your page.

A green BUY NOW button indicates you can purchase the item immediately for the set amount listed next to the BUY NOW button without waiting for the auction to end. It’s up to you – you can choose to place a bid and compete in the auction or use BUY NOW to purchase the item immediately. If an item is purchased using BUY NOW, the auction will close immediately and it will no longer be available. If a BUY NOW button is not visible, you must compete in the auction. A BUY NOW transaction trumps all bids.

Look for items with a BUY NOW price by using the pull down menu at the top of the auction catalog page. Change Bid Now to Buy Now and browse listings available for immediate purchase by their BUY NOW prices.

Using Maximum Bidding is like having someone watch over your auctions when you’re not there. You set the maximum amount you are willing to pay and the Maximum Bidding feature ensures that you get the best deal by submitting the smallest incremental bid possible to keep you a winner!

The Maximum Bid feature will never bid higher than you tell it to. If the bidding in an auction goes over your maximum bid, you will be sent an e-mail to let you know. To enter a new bid or set an new Maximum Bid, simply return to the lot’s page before closing and set a new Maximum Bid or submit a regular bid.

1) How do I use it?

• Click Bid Now.
• Enter your maximum bid price in the text field.
• Press the “SET MAX” bid button.

2) How does it work?

• Maximum bids will be submitted on your behalf.
• Only you know your maximum bid price. It is kept secret from all other bidders.
• Think carefully before bidding! Once you submit a maximum Bid, you may not retract it.

3) What happens if my Maximum Bid is Outbid?

• If your Maximum Bid is outbid you will receive an e-mail stating that “you have been outbid…”
• Click on the link provided to return to the auction before closing.
• You can then counter with a new bid or a new Maximum Bid.

Some auctions have a reserve price, a hidden minimum price, on their item.
How it works:
A reserve price is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for the item. As a buyer, you are not shown the reserve price, only whether or not the reserve has been met. The seller is not obligated to sell the item if the reserve price is not met. The winning bidder must meet or exceed the reserve price and have the highest bid. When you’re bidding on an item with a Reserve Price, bid as usual, entering the maximum amount you’re willing to pay for the item. Watch the label next to the current bid to see whether the reserve price has been met. Until you see that the reserve price has been met, there have been no successful bids in the auction. Once the reserve has been met, the item will sell to the highest bidder when the auction closes. If your maximum bid is the first to meet or exceed the reserve price, the effective bid displayed will automatically be raised to the reserve price.

To watch an items, simply click on the “Add to Watched List” icon under the Additional Information box on the listing. To view the items in your Watched List simply log into your account and click on Watched Items.
